عَنِ ابنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَم نَرَ لِلمُتَحَابَّينِ مِثلَ النِّكَاحِ»
It was narrated from Ibn Abbas that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

how we got here
Our story
2019
A wedding, not ours
We were seated at the same table at a cousin's mehndi and spent the whole evening arguing about the biryani. Neither of us conceded.
2021
The long letters
Two cities, one very poor phone signal, and a habit of writing far too much at two in the morning.
2024
Both families, one room
Tea was poured, everyone was on their best behaviour for about nine minutes, and then it felt like one family.
